Knowing your shutter speed

Shutter speed can be a bit tricky. Here is a quick run down on it. The higher the shutter speed, the faster your camera will take pictures. This means the camera will let less light in, so it's best to be in a well lit area. It also means that moving objects won't be blurry. This is great for sports or moving objects.

A slower shutter speed is best for darker areas, because it will let more light in the camera. However, if you have moving subjects, they will turn out blurry. This setting can be best for portraits or photographing food.
